GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes (G3, São Paulo Congonhas) is faced with an injunction issued by the labor court of Rio de Janeiro state following its announcement to lay off 850 staff at subsidiary Webjet (Rio de Janeiro International) at the end of November as part of an immediate shutdown of all Webjet operations. The court argues that Gol has not discussed the lay off plan with trade unions as required by law and has also violated its agreement with Brazil's antitrust authority that required it to remain employment levels to be allowed to acquire Webjet.
