Flight school and fixed base operator Bellator Aviation (Las Cruces) is planning to expand into commuter scheduled charter passenger operations using its newly acquired pair of Tecnam P2012s.

Bellator Aviation said it was planning to use the Costruzioni Aeronautiche TECNAM twin-piston 11-seaters to operate out of its base at Las Cruces to Albuquerque International, Santa Fé, Dallas, and Phoenix. This would make it the first airline to proffer scheduled services out of the New Mexican airport. The company said it expects to obtain the necessary Part 135 charter/commuter certificate (as well as the Part 141 flight school certificate) from the FAA in early 2023.

The company, which has been in business since 2019, announced plans to expand out of Las Cruces in February 2022 pledging to invest over USD7 million over three years in a new executive terminal and office building at the airport. It simultaneously applied to the New Mexico government for support for its planned commuter routes under the Rural Air Service Enhancement Grant Program. The funds have yet to be allocated.

The US FAA aircraft register does not show any aircraft currently owned by Bellator Aviation.
