Air Corsica (XK, Ajaccio) took delivery of the first of its five firm-ordered ATR72-600s on November 29, 2022.

F-HXKA (msn 1648) was delivered from Toulouse Blagnac to the carrier's main base at Ajaccio. It will be inducted into revenue service in early December, the airline told ch-aviation. The airline plans to take all five ATR72-600s by March 2023, replacing its five owned ATR72-500s. The carrier is the launch customer for the new-generation Pratt & Whitney PW127XT engines.

"ATRs are central to our model of air travel in Corsica. They have proven to be the right product for our short-haul operations, enabling us to limit our impact on the island's pristine environment and to meet our passengers' demand for quick, frequent, reliable, and yet lower emission air travel," President of Supervisory Board Marie-Hélène Casanova-Servas said.

The Corsican carrier has been operating ATR - Avions de Transport Régional turboprops since 1990, when it added the first ATR72-200s, the ch-aviation fleets history module shows. It currently also operates a single ATR42-500, as well as four A320-200s and two A320-200Ns.
