The recently reopened Russian airport of Kaluga will resume scheduled international operations during the middle of next month Russia's RIA news agency has reported.

Effective November 16, Asian Express Airline (Tajikistan) (RS, Dushanbe) will offer a 3x weekly return service between Kulyab and Kaluga while from November 17, Ural Airlines (U6, Ekaterinburg) will offer weekly return flights to Khudzhand. The Russian carrier has also been granted route authority for flights to Almaty International and Astana Nursultan Nazarbayev in Kazakhstan, Tashkent International and Namangan in Uzbekistan, and Osh International and Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan.

Komiaviatrans (KMA, Syktyvkar), which is one of two scheduled operators to serve the airport with flights to St. Petersburg, has been allocated rights to serve Baku Heydar Aliev International in Azerbaijan.

Located 150 kilometers southwest of Moscow, Kaluga airport reopened to commercial traffic in May of this year with its first international flight - a business charter from Braunschweig/Wolfsburg in Germany - arriving on September 4, 2015.
