PNG Air (CG, Port Moresby) took delivery of its maiden ATR72-600(C) on Tuesday, November 3. The arrival of P2-ATR (cn 1287) in Port Moresby heralds the carrier's transition from Airlines PNG (Port Moresby) to its new revised branding of PNG Air.
PNG Air expects to take delivery of two Combi-configured ATR72s this year with an additional three due in January, May and November of next year respectively. A further three are expected from 2016 onwards.
The ATR - Avions de Transport Régional turboprops will gradually replace the Papua New Guinean carrier's existing fleet of fourteen Dash 8-100s.
