Oman Air (WY, Muscat) chief operations officer Abdullah Bu Saidi says his airline planning to use its incoming fleet of B787-8s and B787-9s to make its North American debut by 2018.

Speaking to Arabian Business news, Saidi said he expects to start daily direct flights to New York JFK from 2018 onwards. The route will cater to both leisure and business traffic, he added.

The Omani national carrier currently serves forty-nine destinations across the Gulf, the Middle East, North and East Africa, India and the subcontinent, south east Asia, and Europe. Plans are afoot to expand into China with Guangzhou, Saidi said.
