Orbest (Portugal) (Lisbon) is planning to begin flights to the United States as revealed in its recent application to the US Department of Transportation (DOT) for a Foreign Air Carrier Permit.

The Portuguese leisure specialist said it plans to operate both scheduled and chartered passenger flights between the European Union and European Common Aviation Area, and the United States and beyond. No precise details concerning proposed routes were revealed in the application.

Orbest currently operates one A320-200 (wet-leased to sister carrier Evelop Airlines (Palma de Mallorca)) and one A330-300 (used for Caribbean flights).
