China Southern Airlines (CZ, Guangzhou) has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Boeing (BOE, Chicago O'Hare) concerning the strengthening of cooperation in the P2F conversion chain.

In a statement, the carrier said the tie-up would lead to the establishment of a production line specializing in the conversion of the carrier's B737NG passenger jets, along with those belonging to third parties, into freighters.

The addition of narrowbody freighters would diversify China Southern's cargo fleet which currently consists of two B747-400(FSCD)s and twelve B777-Fs.
