UTair (UT, Khanty-Mansiysk) has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Air Lease Corporation for the delivery of two B737-8s.

According to the carrier's 2017 financial results, a finalized agreement will be signed once talks have been concluded.

Last year, the carrier's president, told Russia's ATO.ru that UTair intended to begin fleet renewal in 2019 with up to five new aircraft to be added to its fleet annually through to 2025.

UTair's jet fleet is currently an all-Boeing affair with six B737-400s, thirty-two B737-500s, nine B737-800s, and three B767-200(ER)s which collectively average around 18 years of age.
