Flexjet (LXJ, Cleveland Cuyahoga Country) has announced it will build a new private terminal at Dallas Love Field and relocate its Texas maintenance base from Dallas Addison to this airport in Summer 2019 following the reconstruction of the historic Braniff International Airways (1928) hangars at the airport. The business charter specialist will also move its local offices from Richardson to a new office facility next to the Dallas Love Field airport.

The office relocation is scheduled for November 2018, while the private terminal and the maintenance base will not open until June 2019.

"At our core, we are an aviation company, and the ability to tie a portion of our future to somewhere that has such historical significance in aviation is a perfect fit for us. It not only gives us a significant presence at a key airport, it also brings our entire Dallas team together in what will become one of our flagship regional facilities," Flexjet CEO Michael Silvestro has said.

The new private terminal with a direct ramp access and the maintenance base will cover 60,000 square feet (5,570 square metres).

The relocation is modelled after the carrier's main base at Cleveland Cuyahoga Country where it has also co-located offices and a maintenance base. The company currently operates private terminals at Naples Municipal, White Plains, and West Palm Beach International, and is also developing another one at Scottsdale.

Once completed, the former Braniff International base will be turned into a 200,000-square-feet facility and will also include TAC Air Fixed Base Operator, retail shops, restaurants, offices, an auto-dealer showroom, entertainment venues, and hospitality facilities.
