Kenmore Air (M5, Kenmore) has launched a new direct scheduled seaplane service connecting Seattle Lake Union with Vancouver Coal Harbour, offering a convenient link between the city centres of the two major agglomerations in the north-western United States and southwestern Canada, AIN Online has reported.

The route is operated 10x weekly with a floats-equipped DHC-3 aircraft. The service will eventually be flown in partnership with Canada's Harbour Air Seaplanes (YB, Vancouver Coal Harbour) once the airline secures a permit to operate in the United States.

The service to Vancouver is Kenmore Air's second city-to-city route of Seattle, after its service to Victoria Inner Harbour. The carrier also operates a number of seaplane services to leisure island destinations in both the United States and Canada, as well as wheeled-aircraft routes from Seattle Boeing Field to each of Eastsound and Friday Harbor, the ch-aviation capacity module shows.
