PSA Airlines (OH, Dayton James M. Cox) has announced plans to open a new MRO base at Pensacola Gulf Coast Regional International Airport effective this October.

The American Airlines (AA, Dallas/Fort Worth) unit said in a statement that its ongoing growth drive necessitates additional locations to support the maintenance and reliability of its rapidly expanding fleet. As it stands, PSA maintains bases in Akron Regional, Charlotte International, Cincinnati International, Dayton James M. Cox, Greenville/Spartanburg International, Norfolk International, VA, and Savannah International.

“The addition of Pensacola will enhance PSA’s reliability, provide much-needed flexibility in meeting our maintenance program requirements, and ensure we meet our planned capture rate as we continue to grow,” Gary Pratt, Vice President (Maintenance & Engineering, PSA Airlines) said.

PSA plans to employ 30-35 staff including mechanics, leads, inspectors, and stores personnel.

According to the ch-aviation fleets module, PSA Airlines operates an all-Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) fleet of thirty-five CRJ200s, thirty-nine CRJ700s (with a further twenty-two ex-Envoy Air aircraft due), and fifty-four CRJ900s.
