VietJetAir (VJ, Hanoi Noi Bai International) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Boeing (BOE, Washington National) for 100 B737 MAX. Announced during the 2018 Farnborough Air Show, the tentative order entails eighty B737-10s and twenty B737-8s.

The Vietnamese low-cost carrier is an existing B737 MAX customer with 100 B737-8-200s on order already. It also has seventy-two A321neo on order from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac).

In terms of its current fleet, VietJetAir operates an all-Airbus fleet of twenty-three A320-200s, thirty A321-200s, and one A321neo on scheduled flights to 34 cities across Vietnam as well as Taiwan, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, and South Korea. Its subsidiary Thai VietJetAir (VZ, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi) operates a further five A320-200s.
