SpiceJet (SG, Delhi International) is set to begin dedicated cargo operations following the arrival of its first B737-700(F) P2F-converted freighter in India late last month.

Having undergone conversion with Bedek in Tel Aviv Ben Gurion, Skyliner Aviation reports VT-SFB (msn 29042) was ferried to Hyderabad International via Mumbai International on August 29 and now features the brand SpiceXpress. The 20-year-old jet was formerly in service for Xiamen Airlines (MF, Xiamen) as B-2998.

Early last month, SpiceJet's Chief Project Officer Manjiv Singh said the freighter would initially be deployed on flights between Guwahati and Hong Kong International.

By 2022, SpiceJet expects to operate a fleet of twenty B737NextGen freighters plying both domestic Indian and regional Asian routes.
