Genghis Khan Airlines (9D, Hohhot) has signed a firm order agreement with COMAC (Shanghai Pudong) wherein the start-up will take delivery of its first ARJ21-700 by year-end. Commercial flight operations are expected to start in early 2019 once all regulatory requirements have been completed.

Backed by the by the Inner Mongolia Transportation Investment (Group) Co., Genghis Khan Airlines has orders for twenty-five firm and twenty-five optioned ARJ21s. It aims to reach a fleet of twenty-five within five years of its launch.

In the interests of developing Inner Mongolia's aviation market, the carrier also signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the Ordos Municipal Government and China Commercial Aircraft Customer Service Co., Ltd. over the construction of a large aviation MRO training college in the region.
