Eastar Jet (ZE, Seoul Gimpo) has taken delivery of its first B737-8 following the handing over of HL8340 (msn 60458) on December 18, 2018. It will be followed by a second of the type later on this month.

According to an airline statement, the jet will is being ferried from Seattle Boeing Field to Seoul Gimpo via Anchorage Ted Stevens and Sapporo Chitose. Arrival in South Korea is scheduled for December 21.

As the MAX's Korean launch operator, EastarJet will deploy the B737 into service between January 16 and February 7, 2019 on Busan-Singapore Changi flights.

A low-cost carrier, EastarJet operates a fleet of seventeen B737-800s and two B737-900(ER)s on flights throughout Korea as well as to Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Taiwan.
