Qatar Executive (QQE, Doha International) has taken delivery of the first two Gulfstream G500s (Gulfstream VII), becoming the first international customer for the type.

The two units, A7-CGP (msn 72011) and A7-CGQ (msn 72015), were handed over to the Qatari carrier on December 17 during a ceremony at the Gulfstream Aerospace site in Savannah International.

In October, Gulfstream delivered its first G500 to a domestic customer in the United States but has so far not delivered any units to international clients.

The G500 is a new type unrelated to the Gulfstream V also marketed as G500. It has been developed as a replacement for the Gulfstream IV G450. The new family also includes the G600, whose deliveries are due to commence this year with Qatar Executive also slated to be the international launch customer, and the in-service G650 model.

Qatar Executive has an order for twenty-five G500s and expects the deliveries to conclude in 2022. The business charter wing of Qatar Airways Group has already taken five G650ERs. It also deploys six Bombardier Aerospace Global Express and three Challenger 605 aircraft.
