Air Vanuatu (NF, Port Vila) has confirmed it has ordered four A220s from C Series Aircraft. According to Airbus, the South Pacific carrier's purchase includes two A220-100s and two A220-300s. Deliveries are to start in June 2020.

“We are proud to be the launch airline in the South Pacific of the best-in-class Airbus A220. These aircraft will be deployed to operate on our current domestic and international routes, including our newly announced non-stop Melbourne-Vanuatu service, and will bolster plans to expand our network in the South Pacific,” Air Vanuatu Chief Executive Officer Derek Nice said in a statement.

Based at Port Vila Bauerfield International Airport, Air Vanuatu is a state-owned airline that operates a fleet of seven aircraft - one B737-800, one ATR72-600, one ATR72-500, three DHC-6-300s, and one BN-2 - on flights to 26 domestic airports and internationally to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and New Caledonia.
