Allegiant Air (G4, Las Vegas Harry Reid) has announced plans to base two A320-200s at Savannah International, GA. The new base is due to launch on June 6, 2019.

The American leisure-focused LCC will be the only airline to base its aircraft in Savannah. The airport in Georgia will become Allegiant's seventeenth aircraft base.

Allegiant Air currently operates 18 weekly departures from Savannah to eight domestic destinations. After the opening of the base, the network will grow to 44 weekly departures to 15 destinations. The carrier's market share by capacity at the airport will grow from the present 8.2% to 17.5%.

The carrier currently operates exclusively Airbus narrowbodies, including thirty-seven A319-100s and fifty-nine A320-200s.
