Bank of America NA and its subsidiaries acquired additional shares in GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes (G3, São Paulo Congonhas) and now hold a 12.64% stake in the Brazilian airline, Gol said in a stock market disclosure.

"The increase in the number of preferred shares by Bank of America and its subsidiaries is related to the role of its subsidiary Merrill Lynch International as the Borrower under the ADS Lending Facility entered into by Mobi Fundo de Investimento em Ações and Merrill Lynch in the context of the Company’s Exchangeable Notes Offering," Gol clarified.

Following the transaction, Bank of America became Gol's largest foreign shareholder. Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) holds a 9.4% stake in the carrier. Two Brazilian funds, Mobi Fundo de Investimento em Ações and Fundo de Investimento em Participações Volluto, held a 37.4% and a 23.4% stake, respectively, prior to the transaction with Merrill Lynch.
