Ukraine International Airlines (PS, Kyiv Boryspil) has announced it will reduce its planned schedule for the Summer 2019 season due to the B737-8 delivery delays caused by the grounding of the type.

"Due to the unforeseen circumstances that led to the disruptions in the delivery of aircraft, we were forced to make changes to the already agreed summer flight schedule," spokesperson Evgeniya Satska said.

The carrier said it will cancel its proposed flights between Kyiv Boryspil and Vinnytsia and reduce the frequency of flights to Athens, Istanbul Atatürk, and Yerevan.

"At the same time during April, May, and June some flights cancellations between Kiev and Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Ivano-Frankivsk, Baku Heydar Aliev International, Minsk National, Riga, Geneva, Amman Queen Alia, and Ankara Esenboga are expected," the airline further clarified.

UIA was due to take delivery of the first of three B737 MAX 8s, UR-MXA (msn 43917) in mid-April 2019. The delivery is now postponed until further notice, pending the completion of the investigation into the type's safety record.
