United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare) has signed a contract with Embraer for up to thirty-nine E175s comprising twenty firm and nineteen optioned aircraft.

Announced during the 2019 Paris Air Show at Paris Le Bourget, deliveries of the 70-seater jets are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2020. They will replace older 70-seat aircraft currently operated by United’s regional partners under the United Express banner.

According to the ch-aviation fleets module, United Express has 153 E175s in service/in the process of being inducted across three AOCs namely Mesa Airlines, Republic Airways, and SkyWest Airlines. A fourth operator, ExpressJet Airlines, recently deployed its first of twenty-five aircraft of the type into service for United Express.
