Air Peace (P4, Lagos) has increased its E195-E2 firm order backlog to 13 aircraft after it firmed up three purchase rights during the ongoing Dubai Airshow 2019. According to Embraer, with this development, the Nigerian carrier now has seventeen E195-E2 purchase rights.

Overall, Air Peace plans to use the E2 jets to replace its existing fleet of six E145s all of which are in service with its Air Peace Hopper (P4, Lagos) division. Deliveries are expected to start from the second quarter of 2020 onwards. They will be configured with 124 seats in a dual-class arrangement.

“The E195-E2 is the perfect aircraft to expand our operations in Africa and this new order is a further confirmation of our 'no-city-left-behind' initiative which we shall continue to execute," Air Peace Chairman/CEO, Allen Onyema, said in a statement.

“We are receiving impressive data about the aircraft’s economics now that is in revenue service, and this was a driver to place this new firm order with Embraer. We look forward to receiving our first aircraft, which will enhance connectivity in Nigeria and the African region while feeding long-haul flights from our Lagos hub.”

According to the ch-aviation fleets module, Air Peace also operates eight B737-300s, five -500s, one B777-200(ER), two -300s, one Do328-300, and one B737-800 (wet-leased from euroAtlantic Airways (YU, Lisbon)). It also has firm orders with Boeing (BOE, Washington National) for ten B737-8s.
