GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes (G3, São Paulo Congonhas) has announced it reached an agreement with Boeing regarding the B737 MAX aircraft, which includes cash compensation and cancellation of orders for thirty-four undelivered aircraft.

The Brazilian airline said it remained "fully committed" to the MAX as the core of its fleet.

GOL said that while, in general, the details of the deal will remain confidential, it does include the cancellation of thirty-four outstanding orders and additional flexibility regarding the orders that were not cancelled.

According to the ch-aviation fleets module, GOL took deliveries of seven B737-8s before the type's grounding in March 2019. It expected a further twenty-five units to deliver in 2019. In total, GOL has outstanding orders for 95 B737 MAX. Before the cancellation, its order for 129 B737 MAX included ninety-nine B737-8s and thirty B737-10s. The airline did not disclose the makeup of the scaled-down order.

Besides the MAX, GOL also operates twenty-three B737-700s and 101 B737-800s.
