Malta-based Aeronexus International, a sister firm of Aeronexus Corporate (ARN, London Stansted), has announced it has acquired Malta's Privajet (PVJ, Malta International) and its European Union-based Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) for an undisclosed amount.

The South African business charter specialist said it will transfer its only aircraft, B767-300(ER) ZS-NEX (msn 24865), to Privajet's AOC and the Maltese registry by mid-2020. The aircraft will be Privajet's second in-house unit after a Bombardier Business Aircraft Global 6000.

"Building on our success in the wide-body VIP charter market, the opportunity to obtain a European AOC and bring Privajet into the group comes at a very opportune time," Aeronexus’s UK-based head of commercial, Gareth Evans, said.

Aeronexus's founders Gavin Harrison and Sven Petersen will join Privajet's board.

Aeronexus operates the 29.8-year-old Boeing widebody in a 96-passenger configuration. The aircraft is based out of London Stansted.
