Air France (AF, Paris CDG) has resumed its twice-weekly Paris CDG to Bangui flights. Earlier in the week, the airline had suspended the service citing the country's deteriorating security situation. Since the most recent outbreak of fighting in the Central African Republic, Bangui M'Poko International Airport has once more been inundated by terrified citizens fleeing marauding Christian and Muslim militiamen. A French Army garrisoned there has since been bolstered by the arrival of a further 1600 troops. The airport is set to see a dramatic upturn in military traffic as the African Union contributes more troops. The Pentagon recently announced that the United States Air Force (MC, Washington National) will ferry Burundian troops from Bujumbura to Bangui in the next few days.
