bmi regional (Aberdeen Dyce) has been sold by British Airways (BA, London Heathrow) to Sector Aviation Holdings for 8 million GBP with the transaction expected to be completed within two weeks. The consortium taking over the regional carrier includes a group of Scottish business men previously referred to as Granite Aviation as well as Loganair (LM, Glasgow International) investors Stephen and Peter Bond. bmi regional currently operates 15 E145s and 4 E135s on regional services from Aberdeen Dyce to Esbjerg, Groningen, London Heathrow, Manchester and Norwich International, from Nottingham East Midlands to Brussels National and Frankfurt International, from Edinburgh to Brussels Ntl, Copenhagen Kastrup, London Heathrow, Manchester and Zurich, from Glasgow International to Copenhagen Kastrup, from Leeds/Bradford to Brussels Ntl, from London Heathrow to Hannover and Manchester as well as between Manchester and Lyon St. Exupéry. All of these flights are currently operated using the BD code of current parent bmi british midland (Nottingham East Midlands) and no details are known yet on the planned separation of the two carriers.
