Hainan Airlines (HU, Haikou) has applied for traffic rights to launch four times weekly B787-8 service between Beijing Capital and Chicago O'Hare in spring 2013. This confirms that Hainan still plans to take delivery of its 10 B787-8s and that earlier rumours saying Hainan might instead opt for the B747-8 have turned to be unfounded. Hainan already serves Seattle Tacoma International and Toronto Pearson in North America.
