Qantas (QF, Sydney Kingsford Smith) and Qatar Airways (QR, Doha Hamad International) have announced talks about a strategic cooperation agreement aimed at using Doha Hamad International as a hub for one-stop connections between Europe and Australia. Exact details of the cooperation have yet to be worked out but they likely include at least a bilateral codeshare agreement. Qantas currently serves Frankfurt International and London Heathrow in Europe via Singapore Changi and Qatar Airways operates to Melbourne Airport and Perth International from Doha.
