Asiana Airlines (OZ, Seoul Incheon) has completed the reconfiguration of its last makeshift A330-300 freighter back to passenger layout ahead of its redeployment on short-haul routes, mainly to Japan.
The carrier said that between September 2020 and early January 2023, it operated a total of seven makeshift freighters - four A350-900s and three A330-300s. Each of them operated over 500 flight hours worth of cargo-only services, including a significant number of flights to the United States, during which time they generated KRW350 billion won (USD283 million) in revenue.
The ch-aviation Commercial Aviation Aircraft Data module shows that Asiana Airlines operates fifteen A330-300s and thirteen A350-900s.
As it stands, the airline will continue to use its fleet of dedicated freighters (six B747-400(BDSF)s, four B747-400FSCDs, and a single B767-300F) in addition to bellyhold capacity for its cargo business.
