TransAsia Airways (Taipei Songshan) chairman Vincent Lim has proposed that the three major Taiwanese carriers China Airlines (CI, Taipei Taoyuan), EVA Air (BR, Taipei Taoyuan) and Transasia should join forces and set up an own Taiwanese low-cost carrier to ensure they do not lose market share on regional markets given the fairly large number of Japanese, Korean and South East Asian low-cost carriers now serving the island.
