Aeroflot (SU, Moscow Sheremetyevo) and Cubana (CU, Havana International) could potentially be involved in a project planned by their respective owners, the governments of Russia and Cuba. The two countries are currently exploring the potential of setting a new joint venture carrier based at Havana International to establish a hub in Cuba for passengers travelling from Russia to the Caribbean and Latin America. Aeroflot currently already operates between Moscow Sheremetyevo and Havana five times weekly with A330-200s while Transaero Airlines (Moscow Vnukovo) serves Varadero from both Moscow Domodedovo and St. Petersburg targeting Russian leisure travellers.
