Dana Air (DAN, Lagos) is still working on its plan to relaunch operations and currently finalizing its recertification with the Nigerian civil aviation authority to resume operations with its five MD-83s. It has announced that it is currently evaluating new generation A320 and B737 family aircraft as a potential replacement for its MD-83s after it has been able to successfully resume operations again. Dana Air had lost its air operator certificate following the fatal crash of one of its MD-83s on approach to Lagos in early June.
