Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport) CEO Temel Kotil has told Bloomberg that the fast growing carrier has decided against ordering A380-800s or B747-8s and will instead place an order for 100 additional narrowbody aircraft before the end of this or early next year. Turkish is still in talks with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac), Boeing (BOE, Washington National) and Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) about the order and is considering either additional A320 or B737 family aircraft or the Bombardier CSeries. THY had already placed orders for fifteen A330-300s and fifteen B777-300ERs earlier this year to support its long-haul ambitions.
