Qatar Airways (QR, Doha Hamad International) CEO Akbar al-Baker has denied that Qatar would be in talks with SpiceJet (SG, Delhi International) about an investment in India's second largest low-cost carrier. He also said that Qatar would in general not be interested in investing in Indian airlines at this point even though foreign investors are now able to acquire up to 49% in Indian airlines after changes had been made to relevant laws back in September 2012.
