British Airways (BA, London Heathrow) and sister carrier Iberia (IB, Madrid Barajas) are reportedly considering to move some of their short-haul flights to low-cost carrier Vueling Airlines (VY, Barcelona El Prat) according to a report by the Financial Times. If International Airlines Group is able to fully acquire Vueling, according to the report, short-haul point to point services such as BA's network from London Gatwick and some Iberia routes could be transferred to lower cost Vueling in a similar move to Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International)'s plan to move non-hub routes to low-cost carrier subsidiary germanwings (4U, Cologne/Bonn).
