IndiGo Airlines (6E, Delhi International) is reportedly considering setting up a regional operation with 18-20 ATR 72-600s according to a news report by India's Economic Times. IndiGo president Aditya Ghosh has denied such rumors but the carrier is under pressure to make adjustments to its route network from India's civil aviation ministry that forces airlines to serve regional airports in the country through its so called route dispersal guidelines. Civil aviation minister Ajit Singh has said that the ministry would only allow IndiGo to import five A320-200s this year instead of the sixteen A320s the carrier wants to add to its fleet.
