Arctic Circle Air Service (Fairbanks International) is considering acquiring a Chinese built Y12 17-seat turboprop to launch scheduled services between Guam International and Rota International, a route that has been underserved since Freedom Air (Guam) (Guam International) has at least temporarily suspended scheduled operations back in August 2012. Arctic Circle had originally been based at Fairbanks International but its operating certificate and a single BN-2 has been acquired by investors from Saipan in 2012. United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare) offers three weekly services between Guam and Rota using Cape Air (9K, Hyannis) ATR 42-300s but flights operate a night timed for connections in Guam and stop in Saipan.
