Royal Jordanian (RJ, Amman Queen Alia) has announced that effective immediately its flights between Amman and Beirut will no longer overfly Syria for security reasons adding 45 minutes minutes each way to the flight time of typically less than one hour. It now operates the flights over Southern Jordan, Egypt and the Mediterranean Sea to Lebanon. Royal Jordanian operates four daily flights on the route with a mix of A310-300s, A319-100s, A320-200s, E175s and E195s.
