Armavia (Yerevan) could soon be succeeded by Krunk Air (Yerevan), its director Vladimir Poghosyan has said. In an interview with Radio Armenia, Mr Poghosyan said the start-up was planning to add its "first Airbus A340 this April" with two Airbus A320s to follow. Overall, Krunk Air aims to acquire a fleet of 8 aircraft, all of which will be company-owned, and not leased. According to statements by the start-up, Krunk Air counts the Armenian Government as one of its shareholders, though to what extent, is unknown. Armenia's civil aviation authority has however said that Krunk Air would not even have applied for an air operator certificate yet.
