Nordwind Airlines (N4, Moscow Sheremetyevo) officially took delivery of its first Airbus A320-200 VP-BJH (c/n 2649) on Saturday 25 April. The aircraft had been stored in Amman Queen Alia where it had seen service for Royal Jordanian (RJ, Amman Queen Alia). Just a couple of days following delivery, VP-BJH has been involved in an incident over Syrian airspace on a charter service from Sharm el Sheikh to Kazan International where missiles almost reached the same flight level close to the aircraft. Following the incident, Russian civil aviation authority Rosaviatsia has banned the use of Syrian air space for all carriers from the country.
