Maldivian (Q2, Malé) has signed an agreement with Chinese travel company, Chengdu Universal International Travel Service, to begin flights to Chongqing effective June 23. Under the deal, Maldivian will operate two flights per week to China using its Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) A320-200. The announcement marks Maldivian's first venture outside the sub-region where it currently serves domestic routes as well as Chennai, Mumbai International and Thiruvananthapuram in India and Dhaka in Bangladesh.
