Malaysia Airlines (MH, Kuala Lumpur International) is mulling the Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) A350-900 and the Boeing (BOE, Washington National) B787-8 as potential replacements for its medium and long-haul fleet, Germal Singh, the airline's senior vice president of government and international affairs, has said. The Malaysian national carrier is reportedly looking at both offerings "to augment its fleet of A330-300s that it uses on regional flights". While his airline currently operates a mixed regional fleet of both A330s and B777-200s, in the interests of lowering maintenance bills, Mr Singh said an homogeneous fleet policy would be pursued with a planned delivery date set for "around 2018".
