Vietnam Airlines (VN, Hanoi Noi Bai International) along with other Vietnamese carriers will, from Summer 2014, benefit from the recent allocation to Vietnam of seven weekly daytime slots at Tokyo Haneda by Japan's regulator, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT). Other nations to have been granted the coveted weekly slots are: China - 28 (can only be used to Shanghai Pudong and Guangzhou - 14 each), France - 14, Germany - 14, Singapore - 14, Thailand - 7 and the United Kingdom - 14 (Virgin Atlantic (VS, London Heathrow) has already said it will move its Tokyo Narita service to Tokyo Haneda). In addition, there will be an expansion of night slots at Haneda International benefiting Australia, New Zealand and Turkey amongst others.
