Boeing (BOE, Washington National) and Alaska Airlines (AS, Seattle Tacoma International) have announced an order for five additional B737-900(ER)s. Valued at USD481million at list prices, the order continues Alaska Airlines' investment in its fleet and efforts to improve fuel performance. Two of the aircraft are due in 2015, two in 2016 and one in 2017. The order supplements the 31 aircraft on firm order for delivery by the end of 2017. Alaska Airlines expects to have 134 Boeing 737s in its fleet by the end of 2014.
