Malindo Air (Kuala Lumpur International) Chief Executive Officer Chandran Rama Muthy has refuted Malaysian press reports claiming 50.99% shareholder, National Aerospace Defence & Industries Bhd (NADI), was considering pulling out of the venture citing a breakdown in its relationship with other shareholders. In its report, The Sun Daily claimed Indonesian billionaire Rusdi Kirana and NADI had "fallen out" over the airline's leadership and management, with talk of a NADI possibly exiting the airline as a result. However, asked by Travel&Tour magazine, Mr Muthy said, "It (the news) is purely speculative. There is no statement from our company or shareholders. So, I think, I cannot comment anything on speculative news.” NADI holds a 50.99% stake in Malindo Airways while president Tan Sri Ahmad Johan has one share, Rusdi Kirana another share with his Lion Air (JT, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) holds the remaining 48.99% stake. Malindo will lease an additional 15 aircraft from Lion Air next year, Mr Rama Muthy said.
