Air Berlin (1991) (Berlin Tegel) has taken over management responsibility at Germania (ST/Berlin Tegel) after Germania founder and owner Bischoff's death. Air Berlin and dba (DI/Munich), which is leasing most of its fleet from Germania, have announced cooperation plans and will start selling flights on both carriers soon. Air Berlin will launch daily service from London Stansted to Alicante on May 1. It is also considering adding new routes from Zurich to Faro, Frankfurt, London Stansted and Munich and from London Stansted to Belfast Intl and Edinburgh. It will however give up its Dortmund-Vienna route in early January.
