AirAsia India (Bengaluru International) has outlined its initial phase of operations, set to launch sometime later in the year. A report by Mint states the LCC will serve Hyderabad International, Ahmedabad, Madurai, Goa Dabolim, Coimbatore, Jaipur and Tiruchirapally from its Chennai base initially. Pending the successful conclusion of India's rigorous licensing procedures, the start-up plans to launch with ten A320-200s. A 49:30:21 joint venture between AirAsia (AK, Kuala Lumpur International), Tata Sons and Telestra Tradeplace, AirAsia India has yet to be granted its operating permit and is unlikely to take to the skies before Summer 2014, the Indian media has reported.
