Avianca (Bogotá) will take delivery of its first B787-8 from Boeing (BOE, Washington National) in October this year. The Colombian carrier says it expects four ships out of a total fifteen on order to arrive in South America before year end. Speaking to the local press in Bogota, airline president Fabio Villegas said the aircraft would be deployed into service one month after their arrival with London and Frankfurt International among the launch destinations being considered. By 2015 a further four aircraft are expected with two more due in 2016.
