SilkAir (Singapore Changi) took delivery of its first B737-800 from Boeing (BOE, Washington National) on February 4. The delivery of the jet, 9V-MGA (msn 44217), marked the start of the Singapore-based airline's transition to an all-Boeing fleet. Over the coming years, Boeing will deliver a total of twenty-three B737-800s and 31 B737 MAX 8s to the regional airline which in turn will phase out its existing Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) metal; six A319-100s and eighteen A320-200s.
